This image depicts the first ten seconds of tendril formation of a Lichtenberg Figure on a poplar board. To generate these figures, the board is prepared and hooked up to a microwave oven transformer. These images were produced via long exposure with the aid of a neutral density filter and several fans angled to remove the smoke produced by the process from view. Photo produced with Ben D. I would have to say this one is my favorite from the shoot, but feel free to disagree. 30 second exposure, standing on top of a table in a smoke filled room over a piece of wood hooked up to a microwave oven transformer. Though, come to think of it, the most dangerous thing in the room was probably the order of Doritos deep fried cheese triangle things. They were delicious though. Photo produced with Ben D.
